The Home Town Insiders Tour is a one of a kind experience when visiting Laurel.

Join Jim Rasberry, HGTV Home Town personality and co-star of “HGTV Inn This Together” on an unforgettable ride through the historic streets of downtown Laurel, Mississippi. Get a behind the scenes glimpse of what life is like in what Southern Living has called one of the “50 Best Small Towns in the South”.

Tours begin at the Scotsman General Store on select Fridays at 3pm. Check in with the General Store Front Desk to get your boarding pass. The tour covers the story of revitalization in Laurel and how small town American can make it in today’s changing world.

Jim tells the story of growing up in Laurel, walking the downtown streets as a kid and dreaming about Laurel’s next chapter. Jim talks about the economic struggles of a small town in the deep south and how a group of people work hard everyday to bring her back to life. You’ll learn about the people that have been instrumental in the rebirth of Laurel and how they continue to overcome every day challenges and answer the occasional social media post from the “ole soreheads”.

Ride in the comfort of a luxury 9 passenger Sprinter van equipped with complimentary drinks and snacks. The Home Town Insiders Tour includes the downtown commercial district, residential historic district, and Jim and Mallorie’s cabin near the Desoto National Forest.

Expect the ride to last about 2.5 hours. The tour includes some walking. Bring a camera and be ready for a fun afternoon. Snacks and drinks are provided. Please park in the large parking lot across from the Scotsman General Store and walk across Spec Wilson Blvd at the designated cross walk. Get your passes at the Scotsman General Store checkout counter.
